Na noite de 7 de outubro e durante o dia de 8 de outubro de 2026, sete homicídios foram registrados em diferentes municípios de Pernambuco. Os crimes ocorreram em regiões distintas do estado — Agreste, Região Metropolitana do Recife e Sertão — e vitimou pessoas com idades entre 20 e 51 anos. A autoria e a motivação da maioria dos casos ainda são desconhecidas e estão sendo investigadas pela Polícia Civil.

 

Em Santa Cruz do Capibaribe, no Agreste do estado, Everton Pereira de Melo Silva, de 26 anos, foi morto a tiros dentro da residência onde morava, no Loteamento Alabama. Dois homens em motocicleta chegaram ao local e o garupa efetuou vários disparos. A vítima era natural de Palmares e morava no local há aproximadamente um mês. Cápsulas de pistola foram encontradas no local. O corpo foi encaminhado ao Instituto de Medicina Legal de Caruaru.

 

Em Caruaru, Evanilson Santana de Alcântara, de 51 anos, foi assassinado a facadas na Feira do Troca-Troca, no Parque 18 de Maio. Ele foi atingido e caminhou alguns metros antes de cair e falecer. Uma faca peixeira foi encontrada ao lado do corpo. A bolsa da vítima estava aberta mas não foi levada, o que levou a polícia a investigar se trata de latrocínio. Este foi o 1º homicídio de outubro e o 98º do ano no município.

 

No Recife, três homicídios foram registrados. Na comunidade Roda de Fogo, bairro dos Torrões, Evandro Dias Ribeiro da Silva, de 46 anos, foi morto a tiros em frente ao próprio açougue que mantinha como estabelecimento comercial. Dois homens em moto efetuaram os disparos e fugiram. A vítima foi levada à UPA dos Torrões, mas chegou sem vida. No bairro da Mangueira, José Luiz Medeiros da Silva, de 20 anos, conhecido como "Luizinho", foi encontrado morto com ferimentos de bala na Travessa Doutor Arsênio Tavares. Segundo relatos familiares, ele era usuário de drogas e não tinha passagens criminais; a motivação pode estar ligada a disputa entre grupos do tráfico. Em Águas Compridas, Olinda, Fernando Luiz de Santana, de 48 anos, conhecido como "Samurai", foi assassinado a tiros dentro de um bar na Avenida Castro Alves por um indivíduo encapuzado. Um homem de 53 anos também foi baleado e levado à UPA de Tabajara, depois transferido para o Hospital Miguel Arraes, sem informações atualizadas sobre seu estado de saúde.

 

No Sertão do estado, em São José do Egito, Fred Williams Lima de Lira, de 44 anos, foi baleado às margens da PE-275 e não resistiu aos ferimentos. Ele recebeu aproximadamente quatro disparos, três no tórax e um no pescoço. Segundo sua companheira, ele realizava apostas relacionadas à política atual e, cerca de 20 dias antes, seu veículo havia sido incendiado por pessoas não identificadas. Ele sofreu parada cardiorrespiratória ao dar entrada na unidade de saúde.

 

Em todos os casos, a Polícia Civil instaurou inquérito para apurar as circunstâncias, identificar os autores e estabelecer a motivação dos crimes. A legislação brasileira prevê no Artigo 121 do Código Penal que o homicídio é crime punido com reclusão de seis a vinte anos. Quando praticado com emprego de arma de fogo, contra pessoa indefesa ou com recurso que dificulte a defesa da vítima, a pena pode ser aumentada de um terço a dois terços, conforme o Artigo 142 do Código Penal e a Lei nº 8.072/1990 (Lei dos Crimes Hediondos), quando aplicável. A investigação criminal segue os trâmites estabelecidos no Código de Processo Penal, Artigo 155 e seguintes, competindo à Polícia Civil realizar as diligências necessárias e ao Ministério Público acompanhar os inquéritos e oferecer denúncia quando houver indícios suficientes de autoria.

In Caruaru, Evanilson Santana de Alcântara, 51, was stabbed to death at the Troca-Troca Fair, in the Parque 18 de Maio neighborhood. He was wounded and walked a few meters before collapsing and dying. A fishing knife was found beside his body. The victim's bag was open but nothing was stolen, leading police to consider attempted robbery as a possible motive. This was the first homicide of October and the 98th of the year in the city.

 

In Recife and surrounding areas, three homicides were recorded. In the Roda de Fogo community, Evandro Dias Ribeiro da Silva, 46, was shot and killed in front of his own butcher shop in the Torrões neighborhood. Two men on a motorcycle fired the shots and fled. The victim was taken to the Torrões Emergency Care Unit but arrived without vital signs. In the Mangueira neighborhood, José Luiz Medeiros da Silva, 20, known as "Luizinho", was found dead with gunshot wounds on Doctor Arsênio Tavares Lane. According to family reports, he was a drug user with no prior criminal record; the motivation may be linked to disputes between drug trafficking groups. According to his partner, he had placed bets related to current politics and, about 20 days earlier, his vehicle had been set on fire by unidentified individuals. He suffered cardiopulmonary arrest upon arrival at the health unit.

 

In all cases, the Civil Police have opened investigations to establish the circumstances, identify those responsible, and determine the motives. Brazilian law — Article 121 of the Penal Code — defines homicide as a crime punishable by imprisonment of six to twenty years. When committed with a firearm, against a defenseless person, or using a method that hinders the victim's defense, the penalty may be increased by one-third to two-thirds, according to Article 142 of the Penal Code and Law No. 8,072/1990 (Law of Heinous Crimes), where applicable.
