A ordem é completa e abrangente.
O Desvio: O Que Se Vê Hoje Contra a Ordem Divina
O Ponto Central: A Pessoa e a Prática — Duas Coisas Diferentes
A Verdade Que Permanece Para Sempre

LEI DE IMPRENSA — LEI Nº 5.250/1967, ART. 13:

God’s Clear Command — True Worship and the Danger of Images
The Direct and Unchanging Order
In the Ten Commandments, God spoke clearly, firmly and without room for doubt or change:
“You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God…”
The command is complete and absolute. There are no exceptions, no “buts”, no adjustments. God Himself defines what is forbidden and why: no material representation should be created to become an object of worship; no one should bow down before any image, statue or figure made by human hands; no one should give to any created thing the adoration, trust and surrender that belong only to Him. The reason is simple and eternal: there is only one God — eternal, invisible, holy and almighty. Only He deserves all worship, all praise, all trust and all submission. No form, no material, no figure — however noble or sacred it may seem — can ever take the place reserved exclusively for the Creator.
What Happens in Practice — Actions Against God’s Word
Over time, religious practices developed that move directly away from what God commanded. Today it is common to see:
People bowing, praying, lighting candles, making promises, paying vows and asking for favors and blessings before images made of plaster, stone, wood or other materials — figures representing Mary, saints or other respected names. Many treat these statues as if they could hear, as if they held power, or as if they could carry requests to God. This thinking contradicts what the Bible clearly teaches: there is only one Mediator between God and men — Jesus Christ. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth — without material substitutes, without visible representations, without human intermediaries.
One of the greatest confusions is the mixing of respect and worship. Many say: “we are only honoring people who were faithful to God”. But the distinction is defined by God’s Word and cannot be blurred or confused:
✅ Recognizing, respecting, remembering and valuing the life and example of someone who served the Lord — this is right, proper and permitted. We may honor their memory, learn from their faith and thank God for what He did through them. That is respect, not worship.
❌ Making images, building altars, bowing down before figures, directing prayers and requests to them, attributing power or giving them titles, feasts and honors that belong only to God — this is exactly what the commandment forbids, with no exception. No human tradition, no ancient custom, no teaching of men can ever change what God said clearly.
The Core Truth: The Person and the Practice Are Two Different Things
It is essential to understand: the problem is not with the person of Mary or any other faithful servant of the Lord. Mary was chosen, blessed and obedient to God — the Bible itself confirms this. She was a woman of faith, humility and special purpose in God’s plan. But being chosen and blessed by God never meant — and never will mean — that she should be worshipped, represented in statues or receive divine honor.
The error lies in what human beings added later, in direct opposition to God’s command: they turned a servant into an object of devotion; they created thousands of images and placed them in places of honor and worship; they gave her titles, festivals, holy days and glory that belong only to the Lord; and worst of all — they taught millions of people that this is right, that this is part of faith, while God’s Word says clearly that it is not.
The Bible warns that human tradition can never cancel God’s commandment. Many say: “it has always been this way”, “this is our faith”, “the church teaches this”. But final authority does not rest on what men have created — it rests on what God has spoken. Whoever bows before a statue, whoever prays to an image, whoever places their trust in figures made of stone or plaster — no matter what name they use, no matter what reason they give — is doing exactly what God forbade in His commandment.
The Truth That Stands Forever
God’s rule does not change with time, does not change with customs, does not change with human teachings. It remains firm, clear and always valid:
Only God is to be worshipped.
Only God is to be bowed down to.
Only God is to be trusted completely.
No image, no statue, no created being, no name — however noble, however blessed or however beloved — can ever take the place that belongs only to the Lord our God. True worship needs no material representation, needs no hand‑made mediator, needs no substitute. It goes directly to the living, invisible and holy God, exactly as He established: in spirit and in truth.
LEGAL BASIS FOR FREEDOM OF CRITICISM AND EXPRESSION
STF JURISPRUDENCE — APPEAL NO. 189.330 / APPEAL NO. 286.596:
"Freedom of expression, of criticism and of opinion — even when harsh, forceful or contrary to beliefs and traditions — is a constitutional guarantee. Doctrinal, theological or religious criticism DOES NOT constitute slander, defamation or insult, because it does not attack the honor or reputation of individuals, but rather ideas, doctrines or practices."
PRESS LAW — LAW NO. 5.250/1967, ARTICLE 13:
Criticism of a doctrinal, religious, philosophical or political nature shall not be considered a crime of defamation, provided that no criminal or immoral acts are attributed to specific individuals.
PENAL CODE — ARTICLES 139, 140, 141:
Slander = falsely accusing someone of a crime. Defamation = attributing to someone facts that harm their reputation. THERE IS NO CRIME IN CRITICIZING A DOCTRINE, PRACTICE OR BELIEF. A crime only exists when a NATURAL OR LEGAL PERSON is attacked with false or offensive facts.
