A população de Caruaru e de diversas regiões de Pernambuco tem manifestado, de forma crescente e insistente, insatisfação com as gestões da governadora Raquel Lira e do prefeito Rodrigo Pinheiro. A avaliação geral que se ouve nas ruas é de que a governadora não fez nada por Pernambuco e o prefeito não fez nada por Caruaru, diante da gravidade dos problemas que permanecem sem solução. Agora, ambos são candidatos à reeleição e a pergunta que se espalha entre os eleitores é: quem não resolveu durante o mandato merece continuar no poder? A comunidade entende que não merecem o voto do povo brasileiro.

 

Uma das maiores queixas refere‑se à situação dos hospitais e unidades de saúde. Há relatos de unidades degradadas, com instalações danificadas, falta de manutenção, equipamentos antigos ou sem funcionar e carência de medicamentos e materiais básicos. Pacientes relatam demoras no atendimento, filas grandes e dificuldade para conseguir consultas e exames. A população reafirma que pouco ou nada foi feito para reverter o quadro e questiona a busca por novo mandato sem apresentação de resultados concretos.

 

Outro ponto central é a sensação de abandono na segurança pública. Moradores afirmam que a polícia não circula com a frequência necessária em todos os bairros, especialmente nos mais afastados e periféricos. Há relatos de ruas escuras, pouca presença de agentes e demora no atendimento às ocorrências. Consequentemente, a população aponta aumento visível da criminalidade, com mais assaltos, furtos e violência em áreas que antes eram consideradas mais tranquilas. Muitos dizem se sentir inseguros ao sair de casa, especialmente à noite.

 

Chama atenção também a grande quantidade de radares eletrônicos instalada no município. Existem hoje mais de trezentos equipamentos em funcionamento. Para a maioria das pessoas, esse número é considerado excessivo e desproporcional, sem necessidade real para o tamanho e o fluxo das vias. A impressão geral é de que a medida serve mais para arrecadar valores com multas do que para melhorar a segurança no trânsito. Muitos questionam onde foram aplicados os recursos arrecadados e por que não há investimentos equivalentes em outras áreas mais urgentes.

 

Num momento decisivo para o futuro do estado e da cidade, a população observa com atenção que quem não cumpriu o dever durante o tempo em que teve o poder nas mãos agora busca renovar o mandato. A percepção geral é de que não demonstraram ter prioridade para atender às necessidades reais da população. Cresce entre os eleitores a convicção de que não merecem o voto do povo brasileiro.

Another major concern is the perceived abandonment of public safety. Residents say police do not patrol all neighborhoods with necessary regularity, especially in remote and peripheral areas. There are reports of dark streets, low police visibility and slow response times. Consequently, people observe a noticeable rise in crime, including robberies, thefts and violence — even in areas previously considered safer. Many residents feel unsafe leaving their homes, particularly after dark.

 

The large number of electronic speed cameras installed in the city has also drawn strong criticism. There are currently more than three hundred such devices operating. For most citizens, this figure appears excessive and disproportionate, far beyond what would be reasonably needed for the city’s size and traffic flow. The prevailing perception is that the measure serves primarily to generate revenue through fines rather than genuinely improving traffic safety. Many question where the collected funds have been invested and why equivalent resources have not been directed toward more urgent areas.

 

At this important moment for the future of the state and the city, the population observes clearly that those who did not fulfill their obligations while holding power are now seeking to renew their term. The prevailing opinion is that they have not demonstrated the commitment needed to meet the population’s real needs.
